DESCRIPTION:Purpose of the Meeting\nThe Inaugural General Meeting will: \n\nFormally establish the Association as a scholarly\, non-profit body\nConfirm the mission\, aims\, and basic structure of the Association\nElect the first office bearers and Executive Board\nApprove key decisions needed for registration\, membership\, and future activities\n\n  \nProposed Agenda\nThe draft agenda for the IGM is as follows: \n\nWelcome and opening remarks\n\nIntroduction by the Interim President\nBrief overview of the origins and aims of the Association\n\n\nPresentation of the mission and objectives\n\nMission statement and core values\nScope of work: research\, education\, publications\, and networking\n\n\nAdoption of the Constitution / Articles of Association\n\nPresentation of the proposed governing document\nDiscussion and approval\, with any minor amendments as agreed\n\n\nMembership framework\n\nPresentation of proposed membership categories (Full\, Student\, Institutional\, etc.)\nOutline of membership rights and responsibilities\nPresentation (and\, if possible\, approval) of the proposed fee structure\n\n\nElection of office bearers and Executive Board\n\nPresentation of the proposed structure of the Executive Board\nNominations and brief introductions of candidates (where appropriate)\nElection of:\n\nPresident\nVice-President(s)\nSecretary and/or Assistant Secretary\nTreasurer\nOther Executive Board members / committee chairs as agreed\n\n\n\n\nRegistration and financial arrangements\n\nResolution to proceed with legal registration of the Association\nAuthorisation to open bank accounts in the name of the Association\nAppointment of authorised signatories and\, where relevant\, auditors or advisors\n\n\nInitial programme of activities\n\nDiscussion of priorities for the first 1–2 years\nProposals for:\n\nAcademic meetings (congresses\, workshops\, webinars)\nPublication and communication strategies\nWorking groups (e.g. regional networks\, student and early-career forum)\n\n\n\n\nAny other business\n\nAdditional matters raised by members with the permission of the Chair\n\n\nClosing remarks\n\nSummary of key decisions\nNext steps and timelines\nInvitation to participate in committees and working groups
